Join our creative community
Phoenix Forge members are students, entrepreneurs, hobbyists, artists and artisans from across the valley. As a member, you can reserve machine and work shop time, take classes at member rates, and use all the amenities of the makerspace during our hours of operation.
Signing up for one of our monthly memberships can be done easily online, and you can usually start making things in your area of interest within just a few days.
Becoming a member
1. Select a membership that fits
Membership is available at no cost for students, staff, and faculty of the Maricopa Community College District and Arizona State University. We also offer memberships for the public for a monthly fee.
2. Attend New Member Orientation
Our New Member Orientation can be taken online through our member portal, or in person every Monday at 4PM.
3. Get access to the work area of your choice
Each of our work areas has an orientation or introductory class that is required for using its tools and equipment. See our Tools and Equipment page for more information, then check out our latest class calendar to find a time and date that works for you.
4. Start making!
You can now reserve machine or work bench time in the areas you completed orientation. We encourage everyone to take as many orientations as they can to get the most out of the makerspace.
MCCCD Membership
$0
Membership is free as a benefit for students, staff, and faculty of the Maricopa County Community College District.
All MCCCD members must use their MCCCD email for sign up.

- Unlimited makerspace time
- 6hrs/month of machine time per piece of reservable equipment
General Membership
$75
Membership is open to everyone 18 years and older. We offer military and senior discounts, as well as an annual membership discount if you pay for your year upfront.
- $25 initiation fee
- 80hrs/month makerspace time
- 6hrs/month of machine time per piece of reservable equipment
Business Membership
$150
This is intended for small businesses and allows for multiple people on one membership.
- $50 initiation fee
- 20hrs/week cumulative makerspace time (additional time $10/hr)
- 10hrs/month of machine time per piece of reservable equipment
- Four people included in membership
Arizona State University (ASU) Membership
A limited number of ASU-sponsored memberships are available to ASU students, faculty and staff for ASU coursework, research or student organization projects. Applicants for the ASU-sponsored memberships must use their ASU email for sign up. Once registered, an eligibility status verification email will be sent periodically.
FABRIC Partnership
Phoenix Forge is proud to partner with FABRIC, the Fashion And Business Resource Innovation Center. FABRIC is a non-profit fashion incubator, business accelerator, design studio, academy, and manufacturer that is sustainably disrupting, redefining, and reshoring the fashion industry for the modern apparel entrepreneur.

Membership FAQ
Phoenix Forge welcomes guests age 14 and up. All guests must sign a liability waiver at the member services desk and aren’t allowed to use tools or equipment. Guests are only allowed in the main Makerspace area and not allowed in the Wood or Metal working areas. Any guest or member under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or instructor, if part of a class, at all times.
Monthly and machine-specific hours are tracked for reservable time only, are managed through our reservation system. Your membership includes use packages for each piece of reservable equipment that you may have access to. Your renewal date is the date that your membership began. For example, If you started your membership on March 1st, your packages will renew on the 1st of the month. If you started your membership on March 13th, they will renew on the 13th of every month. After the hours available as part of your membership are used up, you will be prompted to purchase additional packages to add equipment reservation time to your account.
At this time, we don’t offer day passes, or one-off access to our equipment without a membership or orientation. Most new members can begin using our equipment within a few days of signing up.
